WASHINGTON — Amtrak’s version of Black Friday is called “Track Friday,” and for the second year in a row it is offering sizable discounts on some of its most popular routes.
“Track Friday” discounts are available through Nov. 27 for travel between December 2017 and March 2018.
Discounts are 25 percent to 30 percent on select routes nationwide.
Fares include D.C. to Chicago for as low as $76, D.C. to New York for as low as $43, and D.C. to Philadelphia for as little as $33.
Amtrak is coming off a record fiscal year for ridership and revenue. The company carried 31.7 million passengers in fiscal 2017, up 1.5 percent from fiscal 2016, and raked in $3.2 billion in revenue, up 1.1 percent.
On Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor, between D.C. and Boston, ridership reached 12 million — the Northeast Corridor’s highest-ever ridership.
Last month, Amtrak unveiled the new look for its next-generation Acela trains, as well as a $16 million overhaul of its train interiors in the Northeast and Midwest.
