WASHINGTON — Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar will open its first Maryland location at Arundel Mills in Hanover on Oct. 17.
Zinburger, a purveyor of gourmet burgers paired with wine selections, has 14 other locations from New York to Florida. Its only other D.C.-area location is at Springfield Town Center, in Springfield, Virginia, which opened last year.
It is part of Livingston, New Jersey-based hospitality company The Briad Group, and is one of several new restaurants opening at Arundel Mills’ newly-renovated food pavilion.
Zinburger grinds the Angus and American-style Kobe beef for its burgers in-house twice a day and serves them on buns from local bakeries. It is also known for its house-made pies, shakes and floats, and 25 wine varieties on the menu.
It also serves 24 beers, including 16 on tap with several local craft beers available.
Its burgers cost between $10 to $12.
During its opening week at Arundel Mills, Zinburger will be selling VIP Gold Cards for $100 with proceeds going to the nonprofit Fort Meade Alliance Foundation. The VIP card gets customers to the top of the wait-list status, plus half price bottles of wine through the end of January.
The Arundel Mills location is 5,500 square feet and includes a patio with a fire pit.
Zinburger has no immediate plans for other locations in the D.C. or Baltimore area, but says it is something it will consider.
Zinburger was recently named to Full Service Restaurant magazine’s “The Top 50 Emerging Restaurant Chains.”
Its first restaurant opened in Clifton, New Jersey, in 2011.
