Giada De Laurentiis to open restaurant at Horseshoe Casino

WASHINGTON — Food Network’s Giada De Laurentiis is the latest food celebrity to open a restaurant at Baltimore’s Horseshoe Casino.

No firm opening date was announced, nor was a menu, though Laurentiis’ only other restaurant, called Giada that opened at the Cromwell Hotel in Las Vegas in 2013, focuses on Italian dishes.

The Horseshoe Casino restaurant will take space formerly occupied by Johnny Sanchez, a joint venture between celebrity chefs Aaron Sanchez and John Besh, which closed in September. (The restaurant closed before Besh stepped down from Besh Restaurant Group after workplace sexual harassment allegations.)

Laurentiis will join two other food celebrities with restaurants at Horseshoe.

Food Network’s Guy Fieri runs Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen + Bar, and “Hell’s Kitchen” chef Gordon Ramsay is opening a steakhouse, Gordon Ramsay Steak soon.

“I’m super excited to announce my first restaurant on the East Coast,” Laurentiis said in a Horseshoe Casino video announcement.

Laurentiis’ Horseshoe Casino restaurant will open sometime in 2018.
