Spirit Airlines adds Cancun flights at BWI Marshall

WASHINGTON — Spirit Airlines, which just added several new nonstop destinations from BWI Marshall Airport, will begin its first international flight from BWI Marshall this fall, with service to Cancun, Mexico.

Spirit’s Cancun flights from BWI Marshall begin Nov. 9.

Spirit also inaugurated new nonstop service Monday from BWI to New Orleans, Seattle, San Diego and Oakland, California.

The new service boosts the number of Spirit routes from BWI Marshall to 19. Spirit relocated in regional operations from Reagan National Airport to BWI Marshall in 2012, with flights to two destinations.

BWI Marshall had 25.1 million passengers last year, an annual record for passenger traffic at the airport.
