WASHINGTON — Dulles International Airport got its first nonstop service to Lima, Peru, and also added more flights to Toronto this week.
LAN Peru began its direct flights to Lima on Monday.
Air Canada also began three daily nonstop flights from Dulles to Toronto Pearson Airport on Monday — the airline’s first service from Dulles.
United Airlines and Porter Airlines also fly to Toronto from Dulles. Travelers could already fly to Toronto with Air Canada from Reagan National Airport.
LAN Peru now flies nonstop to Lima four times a week. LAN Peru is the only airline offering nonstop flights from Washington to Lima.
Although BWI Marshall Airport continues to add international destinations, Dulles is still by far the region’s international gateway with 120 destinations serving 51 countries.
Dulles reversed four straight years of passenger declines last year, with 21.7 million passengers, up 0.4 percent from 2014. International traffic at Dulles rose to a record 7.2 million passengers.
Aer Lingus began service at Dulles last year as did South African Airlines.
