Carluccio’s opens 2nd U.S. location at Pike & Rose

WASHINGTON — U.K.-based Carluccio’s, a chain of Italian markets and restaurants named after British TV chef and cookbook author Antonio Carluccio, opened its second U.S. location in North Bethesda at the Pike & Rose development Monday.

Carluccio’s opened its first U.S. location in Old Town Alexandria last year. It has more than 100 locations throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Like the Old Town location, the Pike & Rose Carluccio’s serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and includes an espresso bar and an Italian market selling products imported from small artisan producers in Italy.

“My mission was to bring the authentic, simple flavors and products I remembered from my childhood growing up in the regions of Italy, to a comfortable, casual all day restaurant,” Carluccio said.

The 4,600-square-foot Pike & Rose location seats about 100 inside and 30 on its outdoor patio. It is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Alexandria Carluccio’s is at 100 King St.

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to correct the address of the Alexandria Carluccio’s location.
