Red Bull Rallycross will return to D.C.

WASHINGTON — Red Bull is bringing its Global Rallycross race tour back to Washington, D.C., for a third year.

This year’s Rallycross in D.C. will be held July 29 and July 30. Washington, one of the tour’s most popular stops, will host Round 8 in the Rallycross’ 2016 championship schedule. which starts May 21 in Phoenix and ends in early October with its signature finale in Los Angeles.

Red Bull’s Rallycross race features small production-based cars that can reach 60 mph in less than two seconds. The track includes both pavement and dirt, as well as a 70-foot dirt jump.

The Red Bull Rallycross was held at RFK Stadium last year.

Organizers say they have not made announcements about specific venues in any of the cities on the tour’s stop, but expect to make announcements soon.

Ticket prices for last year’s Rallycross in Washington were $25 for adults, and $15 for kids. No ticket prices have been set yet for this year’s Washington stop.
