Rick Massimo came to WTOP, and to Washington, in 2013 after having lived in Providence, R.I., since he was a child. He went to George Washington University as an undergraduate and is regularly surprised at the changes to the city since that faraway time.
He’s the author of the books “I Got a Song: A History of the Newport Folk Festival” and “A Walking Tour of the Georgetown Set.”
He wrote and edited for the Providence Journal for 17 years, winning awards for arts criticism, science and health reporting and diversity in media.
