Meg Hasken is an Army brat who moved seven times, living in places like Hawaii, North Carolina and Kanas before eventually planting her roots in Maryland.
Meg’s love for the news started as early as middle school when she joined the school newspaper, with that passion only growing stronger in her high school and college years.
Meg attended Salisbury University where she studied journalism and psychology. During her time at Salisbury, she interned at WBOC-TV as a web editor before interning, and later freelancing, at The Daily Times as a sports reporter.
After college, Meg joined 1430 WNAV radio in Annapolis as an anchor/reporter. During her time there she covered breaking and local news, enhanced her news judgment skills and learned more about the world of news radio.
Meg came to WTOP after her time as a web editor for 99.1 WNEW in Washington, D.C.
When she’s not in the newsroom with a fresh cup of coffee in hand, you can find Meg at the ice rink, walking around downtown Annapolis or spending time with her German Shepherd.
