WASHINGTON — An Arnold, Maryland, man has been charged with multiple counts of distribution and possession of child pornography Wednesday, state police said.

Edward William Weekley, 25, was arrested Wednesday morning, and was charged with two counts of distribution and five counts of possession of child porn, the Maryland State Police said.

An investigation from the state police’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force found evidence supporting the charges against him, stemming from child porn found online in November 2017. State police said the investigation then led to Weekley’s residence.

Law enforcement officials served a search warrant Wednesday morning at the residence. A preliminary forensic review of Weekley’s electronic devices found evidence of child porn files, state police said.

Weekley was arrested at his residence without incident, state police said, and he is awaiting an appearance before a court commissioner.
