Love triangle leads to 2 deaths in Md.; 3 under arrest

WASHINGTON — A love triangle has led to the deaths of two people and the arrest of three people, including a 13-year-old girl, Anne Arundel County police say.

Tension developed after Jacquelyn Riggs, 25, moved into the basement of Ann and Anthony Anastasi’s house, on West Bay Front Road in Lothian, Maryland, police say. The police say Riggs was romantically involved with both of the Anastasis.

On Oct. 5, Riggs and Anthony Anastasi, 40, were found dead — he of a gunshot wound, she of stab wounds. Police say that Ann Anastasi, 42, and a 13-year-old girl decided to have the pair killed, and that Gabriel Struss, 18, of Annapolis, the girl’s boyfriend, helped them.

Ann Anastasi and the 13-year-old were arrested Thursday evening; Struss, in the early hours of Friday. The girl has been charged with first-degree murder; the adults, with first-and second-degree murder. All three face other charges as well.

The police maintain that “this is a very active and fluid investigation.”
