WASHINGTON — A 19-year-old is dead and a second was hospitalized after Anne Arundel County police say a teen’s house party later became a crime scene.
Early Friday morning, Anne Arundel County police responded to the intersection of Winer Road and Bruce Avenue in Odenton, Maryland, to find Jesse Brousseau, 19 of Odenton, lying in the road, dead from stab wounds. His death has been ruled a homicide.
Lt. TJ Smith says while investigating Brousseau’s death, officers got a report of a burglary at a nearby home, where a 16-year-old boy held a house party a few hours earlier.
“(The party) ended about 1 a.m. early Friday morning. It was just after 3 that his home was burglarized,” Smith says.
Police believe that Brousseau and Allen Johnson, 19, of Crofton, were the burglars but investigators don’t know if they attended the house party.
Johnson was injured during a fight with the younger boy after he and Brousseau burglarized the boy’s home. Johnson was found near Brousseau’s body and was taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive his wounds.
“Johnson was charged with first-degree burglary, theft and assault as we were able to confirm he was involved in the burglary and assault of the 16-year-old,” Smith says.
No charges have been filed in connection with Brousseau’s death.
Smith says detectives are working with the Anne Arundel County state’s attorney’s office and the investigation remains active.
Police want to talk to anyone who was at the party. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Vincent Carbonaro at 410-222-3453 or to call 410-222-4700 to make an anonymous report.
