Giant opens new store in Alexandria

As he signed his book, “Fit Fuel,” Irvine offered up some sage advice to shoppers, telling one pair of girls that they should be cleaning their rooms every day and not dating until they are 16. (WTOP/Colleen Kelleher)

WASHINGTON — A new Giant grocery store opened Friday on the corner of East Glebe Road and Jefferson Davis Highway in Alexandria.

The new store is 57,716 square feet — three times larger than its previous than the Monroe Avenue store that closed Thursday.
