Local weatherman missed ’78 snow predictions — by a lot

WASHINGTON — Forecasters pretty much agree the D.C. area will get hammered by the storm set to roll in Friday afternoon. But meteorological prognostications haven’t always had the benefit of the best technology.

Legendary local weatherman Bob Ryan shares a story with WTOP about a time he missed a snow total prediction by 18 inches!
