WASHINGTON — Bobbleheads everywhere are nodding in approval: Wednesday is National Bobblehead Day.

National Bobblehead Day, the first ever, is sponsored by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum – which is petitioning for funding for a space in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by 2016.

The museum is asking people to contribute to a Kickstarter campaign to fund the space. More than $33,000 has been raised of its $250,000 goal, as of Wednesday morning.

The museum says it could house the world’s largest collection of bobbleheads and exhibits about the history and making of bobbleheads.

Also, National Bobblehead Day, which falls on Jan. 7, encourages fans and collectors to post pictures and stories about their favorite bobbleheads on social media using #BobbleDay.
