Military Road repairs to cause major travel troubles

WASHINGTON — D.C. area commuters who use Military Road may want to allow extra time or find an alternate route.

Road repairs are expected to cause significant traffic delays, starting Monday at 7:30 a.m.

The District Department of Transportation says rolling lane closures will be in effect along Military Road in Northwest D.C., between Oregon Avenue and 14th Street.

DDOT warns commuters to prepare for major and ongoing traffic delays during the road repair, resurfacing and line striping work.

The work will begin in the eastbound right lane, followed by work on the westbound right lane.  From there the closures will impact the eastbound and then westbound left lanes.

One lane in each direction will stay open throughout the month-long project.

DDOT says the interruptions are scheduled to last until Sunday, Nov. 8 at 5:30 p.m.
