Sabra announces recall of 30K cases of hummus

WASHINGTON — The Sabra Dipping Company announced on Wednesday a recall of about 30,000 cases of its Classic Hummus due to the possibility of listeria contamination.

The company says that listeria monocytogenes can cause “serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems,” while healthy people may get headaches, fever, stiffness, diarrhea and other ailments.

They say that no one has reported getting sick from the hummus yet.

The hummus affected by the recall comes from 10-ounce, 30-ounce and 32-ounce packages, 17-ounce Six-Pack packages and 23.5-ounce Dual Packs.
