Car crashes into Va. home killing driver, dog

WASHINGTON — A car crashed into a Gainesville house Friday afternoon setting off a fire and killing the driver of the car as well as a dog inside the garage.

The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. at a home on Catharpin Valley Drive in Prince William County.

A fire spokesman said that when crews got to the scene, flames were shooting through the roof.

The people living in the home were able to get out safely with no reported injuries.

Firefighters remained on the scene Friday night.
