Police: Woodbridge sex assault a false report

UPDATE 3/7/16 3:05 p.m.: Police say they have determined that the victim’s information about the Woodbridge sexual assault was false and that the incident did not occur.

EARLIER: 3/7/16 9:42 a.m.:

WASHINGTON — Prince William County police say a woman suffered minor injuries after fighting off a man who walked up behind her and touched her inappropriately as she left her job.

The incident happened at around 8:10 p.m. Sunday in Woodbridge, near Bixby Road and Gideon Drive. The woman, a 19-year-old who lives in Woodbridge, was walking on Smoketown Road when it happened. Police said officers searched the area but were unable to find the attacker, who ran off.

On Monday, Police released a composite sketch of the man, who was described as a Hispanic male between 30 and 40 years old. Police said he was 5-feet, 7-inches tall with a medium build, brown hair, brown eyes  and a thin mustache. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a small front zipper and dark pants.
