Police: Prince George’s Co. son stabbed 82-year-old father after dispute

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County police arrested a man who they say fatally stabbed his 82-year-old father Thursday.

Around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a residence in the 9000 block of Mill Street in Fort Washington for a welfare check. They found James Proctor, 82, with trauma to his body, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say James Proctor was in a dispute with his son, 64-year-old Roland Proctor before Roland stabbed him. The two lived together in the residence, police said.

Police arrested Roland and he is being charged with first and second-degree murder. He is in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status, police said.

Anyone with information about the case can called police at 301-772-4925.
