Teen shot, killed in Prince George’s Co.

WASHINGTON — A high school student was shot and killed in Prince George’s County Thursday afternoon. The suspect is at large.

Police received a call about a shooting outside an apartment building in the 1400 block of Southview Drive in Oxon Hill, Maryland, around 2:50 p.m.

The victim, a teenager, was shot multiple times, said Lt. David Coleman with Prince George’s County police. The teen was an 11th grader at Potomac High School, according to school officials; he was shot not far from the school.

Emergency crews transported the student to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives are working to find the suspect and motive in the case.

“We’re still at the preliminary stages, looking for witnesses and trying to track down any suspect information,” Coleman said.

Police have not released the name of the victim.
