WASHINGTON – Foodies, restaurant-lovers and Bethesda locals, rejoice. From July 29 to Aug. 4, you can support nearly 30 local restaurants and enjoy great deals during Bethesda/Chevy Chase Restaurant Week.
On your lunch break, feast on two or three-course lunches for $12 or $16, and visit participating restaurants for a $33 dinner. Check out some of the restaurants celebrating this week:
Assaggi Mozzarella Bar
If you’re craving authentic Italian cuisine, Assaggi Mozzarella Bar has you covered. Its restaurant week menu features a three-course lunch for $16 with options including cucumber and celery soup, cured salmon salad, homemade linguine and thinly sliced roast veal. Desserts include cinnamon pannacotta and a wild berry semifreddo with mascarpone and lime sauce. If you’re looking for a lighter dessert, opt for the strawberry salad with prosecco foam and lemon sorbet.
The dinner includes some of the restaurant’s lunch choices, as well as some new dishes, like the branzino with fennel saffron sauce, the grilled 10-ounce rib eye steak and the classic Italian tiramisu for dessert.

The Capital Grille
This popular chain is all about creating a sophisticated dining experience. Enjoy The Capital Grille for less this week with its $16 lunch, which includes dishes such as the signature cheeseburger with parmesan truffle fries and the seared citrus glazed salmon. Dessert options include flourless chocolate espresso cake, handcrafted ice cream and a seasonal fruit sorbet. Meat-lovers should try the filet mignon, the bone-in dry aged sirloin steak or the parmesan and herb marinated tournedos on the dinner menu.

Passage to India
Just three blocks from the Bethesda Metro, Passage to India provides Bethesda’s restaurant row with authentic Indian food made with local ingredients and homemade spices.
The $33, three-course dinner menu includes crab masala, curried mussels and chicken kebabs, among other selections from its regular menu. For dessert, try the rice pudding made with basmati rice and milk, or go for the special apricot dish.

Haven Pizzeria Napoletana
Prepared in an old, coal-fueled Italian bread oven, this thin pizza has a soft crust with just the right amount of crispiness.
The special this week is an $11 lunch that includes a small pizza with one topping and a house or Caesar salad.

Soak up this week’s mild weather by sitting outside at the Lebanese Taverna. This family-owned restaurant is offering $12 lunch and $33 dinner specials with appetizers, entrees and desserts from the regular menu. Be sure to try the new watermelon salad. The dinner special also includes complimentary hummus and a glass of wine or beer.
