WASHINGTON — Montgomery County Police have charged a 31-year-old man with sex offenses against a juvenile, and investigators worry there might be more victims.

The victim first contacted Roy David Evans Jr., of the Unit block of Woods Court in Essex, in June 2015 after he posted a Craigslist ad looking for young models, according to police. Evans asked interested applicants to contact Evans through the social media app “Kik” at “Roddanger86” and using the alias “Rodney.” The victim told Evans that she was 14-years-old, police say.

In August, November, and December of 2015, Evans and the victim contacted through “Kik” and Evans drove to the girl’s residence in Montgomery County where they engaged in sexual acts.

Detectives found out about their sexual relationship in Feb. 2016 and a warrant for his arrest was obtained in late March.

Detectives charged Evans with three counts of third-degree sex offense and arrested him on March 31. He was released on a $150,000 bond. He is facing a maximum penalty of ten years in prison.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims, particularly in the Baltimore region. Police are asking anyone who believes that they may have encountered Evans Jr. to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400 or their local police department.
