Reagan, Dulles airports get their own magazine

WASHINGTON — The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has produced its first issue of a new quarterly magazine called #FlyWashington, and it’s not just a travel-related magazine. It keeps readers up to date on what’s happening at the D.C. area’s two airports.

The airports authority has distributed 50,000 free copies of the magazine at Reagan National and Dulles International airports, available to pick up in both pre-and-post security screening areas. It’s also available online and through the Amazon Kindle app.

The magazine keeps travelers up to date on airport security changes, construction, new restaurants and retail airport expansion plans. It also includes travel features about the destinations serviced by both Dulles and Reagan National.

“We have become much more connected with our passengers through social media, surveys and personalized customer service,” said Jerome L. Davis, executive vice president and chief revenue officer for the airports authority.

“#FlyWashington gives the airports authority a new way to share the many benefits of airport travel directly with people who are at the heart of everything we do,” he said.

The first issue includes recipes from chefs at the airports’ restaurants and articles about things to do and places to stay at destinations reachable by nonstop flights from the two airports.

The cover story is D.C.’s new National Museum of African American History and Culture.

The magazine also includes travel features on international destinations and local guides for visiting travelers on things to do and places to eat in Washington.
