Craft Beer Cellar to open first DC-area store

WASHINGTON — Craft Beer Cellar will open its first D.C.-area location next month on H Street Northeast, with a grand opening featuring some local brews.

Craft Beer Cellar DC plans an Aug. 6 grand opening at its store at 301 H Street NE, with shelves stocked with beers that will include brews from local breweries.

The store will stock 500 to 600 different craft beers at any given time, including regional, U.S. and international crafts.

“We want to provide our customers with an unparalleled craft beer experience, from product selection to hospitality to educational evens,” said store owner Erika Goedrich.

Buyers won’t be bound to any one six pack, and can put together mixed packs with any beer in the store.

Craft Beer Cellar DC says it plans to collaborate with breweries for tastings and other events to help educate customers about beer styles and brewing history.

The grand opening next weekend will feature tastings from DC Brau, Union Craft Brewing and Adroit Theory.

Founded in 2010, the Craft Beer Cellar franchise has 24 locations nationwide. Craft Beer Celler DC is an independently owned and operated part of the Belmont, Massachusetts-based Craft Beer Cellar franchise.
