Your chance to nab White House Easter Egg Roll tickets

WASHINGTON — Hop to it! Wednesday is your chance to get tickets for the 139th White House Easter Egg Roll, provided the lottery swings your way.

At noon, members of the public can request tickets for the event on the Recreation.gov website.

Entering the lottery is free of charge, and winners will be notified via email on Friday, March 31, 2017.

The public can apply from 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 until 12 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, when the lottery is set to close.

This year’s Easter Egg Roll takes place on Monday, April 17.

The White House Easter Egg Roll dates back to 1878 and the presidency of Rutherford B. Hayes. Families with children 13 years old and younger can join the president, first lady Melania Trump, White House staff and their families at the event.

There also are Easter Egg Roll commemorative eggs are available.
