WASHINGTON — Of all the animals that need loving homes, Django is in town to remind would-be owners that monkeys aren’t among them.

Django is a 23-year-old capuchin monkey who loves to eat kettle corn. She and her handler Jerry Brown will be at the Super Pet Expo this weekend to entertain, delight and educate. Brown, who is also an entertainer, has made it his primary mission to share with the public why monkeys aren’t good pets. Such animals require special care and should only be handled by trained professionals.

They will be among the 150 vendors and activities at the expo including diving dogs, a best-dressed pet competition and dog behavioral testing.

Doors open from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $13 for adults, $6 for children ages 4 to 12 and children ages 3 and under enter for free. Tickets can be purchased in advance and find more information at www.SuperPetExpo.com. Cash only will be accepted at the door.
