Reston police arrested 22-year-old Hatim Khalid Abdelrahman, of Reston, Monday evening after police say beginning June 9 he arranged to meet a young girl with the apparent intent of having sex, said Fairfax County police spokesman Don Gotthardt.

Abdelrahman was under the impression he was meeting a teenage girl, Gotthardt said, but police have not yet released details about the girl’s age.

The alleged solicitation did not involve any Fairfax County Public Schools students, said schools spokesman John Torre.

Abdelrahman was a substitute teacher at Fairfax County Public Schools for four days, Torre said. The 22-year-old no longer works for the school system.

Abdelrahman is facing charges of solicitation of a minor and attempted indecent liberties.

Anyone who thinks their child/children might have had inappropriate contact with Abdelrahman can contact the Child Exploitation Unit at 703-246-7800 or Fairfax County police at 703-691-2131.
