Woman’s body found near Herndon parking garage

WASHINGTON — A woman’s body was discovered Tuesday morning lying near a parking garage in Herndon, Virginia, Fairfax County police say.

The body was found about 7 a.m. in the 2300 block of Dulles Station Boulevard. Police described the death as “suspicious” and were trying to identify the person, described as a white woman, possibly in her 20s, with red hair.

Police say she suffered “obvious head trauma” and that an autopsy is planned to determine how she died.

Police also found evidence that could be connected to the woman on the upper decks of the eight-level parking garage.

In an unrelated case, human remains of a male were found Monday night in a wooded area of the 4300 block of Manor Drive, near Woodlawn Park. A passerby made the discovery around 8:30 p.m., a Fairfax County police spokeswoman said.

Those remains were also taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner, where the cause and manner of death will be determined.
