Makeup mirror causes house fire in Fairfax Co.

WASHINGTON — A makeup mirror is blamed for a house fire in the Fairview area of Fairfax County Wednesday morning, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Sunlight reflecting from the mirror caught items in a master bedroom on fire around 9:15 a.m.

Smoke alarms in the home worked and the two people in the home in the 5400 block of Ladues End Lane escaped safely. One person went to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

The fire caused about $1,250 in damage.
