Anti-abortion demonstrators rally in DC

WASHINGTON — A small group of anti-abortion demonstrators rallied outside Planned Parenthood clinic in Northeast D.C. on Saturday.

The anti-abortion group Concerned Women for America drew together members of black churches in the D.C.-area to underscore what they said was the impact of abortion in black communities.

“We believe abortion is wrong, and we believe that Planned Parenthoood has been disproportionately placed in these (black) communities to advocate for abortion,” said Lafayette Dugger, the pastor at First Baptist Church in Capitol Heights, Maryland.

The rally took place outside Planned Parenthood’s Carol Whitehill Moses Center on Fourth Street Northeast. The newly built 27,000-square-foot facility whose services include abortion, men’s health care and HIV testing.
