1 dead, 1 injured in car crash near Howard University

WASHINGTON — One man is dead and another man has serious injuries after a two-car crash Saturday evening. It happened on the 2500 block of Georgia Avenue northwest, across the street from Howard University near Howard Place.

A 22-year-old man was extracted and taken to the hospital. Both cars had ended up on their sides.

The D.C. Fire and EMS Department says Georgia Avenue was blocked between W Street and Euclid Street as they investigated. All lanes going both directions were closed before 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
