Two bodies found in water in D.C.

WASHINGTON —Two bodies have been found in the water within a six-hour period Wednesday and now D.C. police are trying to unravel the mystery.

The first body was found around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday after police received a call about an unconscious person in the water close to the Jefferson Memorial near West Basin Drive.

When officers arrived, they found the man dead.

Then, at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, a body was pulled from the Potomac River near the Kennedy Center.

Neither body has been identified yet. Police say the bodies are being taken to the Medical Examiner’s office.
