Special election held in D.C. Tuesday

WASHINGTON — D.C. is holding a special election Tuesday to fill the council seats left open after the death of Marion Barry and the election of Muriel Bowser as mayor.

Residents of Ward 4 and Ward 8 are going to the polls.

A dozen candidates are running in Ward 4 to fill Mayor Bowser’s seat.

Another twelve are running for the Ward 8 seat including Marion Barry’s son, Marion C. Barry.
