Anne Arundel Co. woman wins Ravens tickets for 20 years

WASHINGTON — Think getting tickets to just one professional football game is exciting? Try winning tickets for 20 years.

Glen Burnie, Maryland, resident Brenda Grier on Wednesday won tickets to see the Baltimore Ravens play every Sunday during football season for the next 20 years.

Grier won the Ravens’ “Seats for 20 Years” contest with the Maryland Lottery. The prize includes two club-level tickets to every preseason and regular-season game, along with parking.

“I can’t wait to share this prize with my grandchildren,” the grandmother-of-five said in Maryland Lottery news release. “They are going to be so excited.”

Grier, 55, was one of six finalists who toured M&T Bank Stadium before the winner was announced on the field’s Jumbotron. Each finalist received $10,000 for being selected.

When Grier saw her name on the screen, she jumped in the air, screamed and hugged the closest person she could find — Kenneth Council, a fellow finalist from Harford County.

The promotion was through the lottery’s seven-year-old partnership with the Ravens.

The finalists entered nonwinning Ravens scratch-offs into their My Lottery Rewards account. Once a ticket was submitted, entrants could select which prize category they wanted to enter: “Seats for 20 Years,” away trip with the team, game-day packages or cash.

The six finalists were selected from more than 132,000 entries submitted for the “Seats for 20 Years” prize.
