Red Line returns to normal after work car derailment

WASHINGTON — Metro’s Red Line returned to normal service just before 8 a.m. Tuesday after a derailed work car forced subway trains to run on a single train between NoMa and Judiciary Square.

Metro had urged riders to consider alternatives and for MARC and Virginia Railway Express riders to use stations other than Union Station.

The two hours of single tracking caused delays at Union Station.
