Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu gets injection

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu has had a cortisone injection in his left shoulder and he won’t throw for at least four days.

The team said Monday that Ryu had an MRI with dye, which showed no changes from his previous MRI that was done in May.

Ryu will rejoin the Dodgers in Chicago later this week to evaluate his response to the injection. At that time, the team says a schedule to start a throwing program will be made.

Ryu left his start on Friday after one inning, complaining of tightness and pain in his shoulder. He said the injury felt similar to one that landed him on the disabled list in May.
