MANASSAS, Va. (AP) — A Prince William County woman has been arrested after police say she fled an accident scene and was driving drunk with her 3-year-old daughter in the car.
Twenty-six-year-old Rachel Diane Brand of Woodbridge was arrested Friday on charges of felony child neglect and drunken driving. It’s unclear whether she has an attorney.
Police say an officer saw Brand’s vehicle, which had extensive damage to its side, drift out of a lane in Woodbridge and hit a construction barrel. The officer pulled Brand over and noticed air bags had been deployed inside the car.
Police say they later connected Brand to a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 95. Details of that crash weren’t immediately available.
Brand’s 3-year-old daughter, who was in the car, was turned over to a family friend.
