Pet of the Week: Chive, Cairn terrier mix

WASHINGTON – If you’re looking to add a little spice to your life, look no further than Chive.

This 3-year old Cairn terrier mix is friendly, energetic and social. He likes other dogs, but is uncomfortable around unpredictable children, so he’s hoping for an adult home — or one with older, mature youngsters — where he can be adored and pampered.

Chive is heartworm positive, so his physical activity should be limited until treatment, which will be covered by WARL, has been completed.

Then he’ll be able to run and play to his heart’s content.

WTOP Living is partnering with the Washington Animal Rescue League to feature a Pet of the Week available for adoption. For more information about Chive, email adoption@warl.org or call 202-726-2556 ext. 503.

About WARL: Founded in 1914, the Washington Animal Rescue League is the oldest animal shelter in Washington D.C.
