L.A. Clippers owner faces criticism for racist comments

WASHINGTON – Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is in hot water today, after reportedly telling his girlfriend that he does not want her to bring black people to games, according to reports from TMZ.

Sterling is dating V. Stiviano, a model and self-proclaimed artist, stylist and philanthropist. She had posted a photo of herself to the photo sharing social network Instagram with Magic Johnson at a Los Angeles Clippers game earlier this month.

Unfortunately, this may not be Sterling’s first incident of racist behavior. In 2003, he was sued for housing discrimination against minorities, Sports Illustrated reports.

Players met last night to discuss Sterling’s comments, and the players are reportedly quite angry, according to tweets from a Los Angeles Daily News sports columnist.

Sterling has not responded to the allegations.

However, Earvin Magic Johnson, tweeted that he “will never go to a Clippers game again as long as Donald Sterling is the owner.”
