WASHINGTON — The most expensive house for sale in the United States is on the market — and you’re in luck if you have a spare $195 million.
The Palazzo di Amore — also known as “Palace of Love” — in California’s Beverly Hills neighborhood is listed at $195 million, making it the most expensive home on the market, according to Coldwell Banker.
On the 25-acre property is an enormous 53,000-square-foot home with 12 bedrooms and 23 bathrooms. The property also has a vineyard, 128-foot reflecting pool and fountain, spa, guest suite, tennis court, swimming pool and an outdoor barbecue.
“At an asking price of $195 million, this home becomes the most-expensive residential property currently for sale in the United States, based on all information at our disposal. If it were to sell for $195 million, it would handily surpass the current sale record of $120 million for Copper Beech Farm in Greenwich, Conn., earlier this year,” Rick Goodwin, publisher of Unique Homes & Ultimate Homes, said in a news release.
Real estate mogul Jeff Greene owns the estate. However, Greene rarely stays there — instead opting for his residences in Palm Beach, Florida, or New York’s Hamptons, according to CNN.
Greene considers the estate as an investment and rents it out for $475,000 a month. The average price of a new home sold in the U.S. in September 2014 was $313,200, according to Census data .
When Greene purchased Palazzo di Amore, he invested ten of millions of dollars to finish the second floor and build a nearly 15,000-square-foot entertainment center, which boats a ballroom, disc jockey booth and laser-light system.
From the moment you walk in, the home is breathtaking. The entry way is a marbled two-story room with a sky light and twin curving staircases.
The appliance-heavy kitchen has a commercial walk-in refrigerator and classically-styled cabinetry.
The master suite can be considered a home all its own with 5,000 square feet of space. It’s double-door entry and wood floors make it a lavish place to lounge.
Parking is no sweat, as the residence has a 27-car garage and can accommodate parking for up to 150 cars.
Looking for a glass of wine? With a vineyard on site, the estate has a wine cellar and tasting room with space for 3,000 bottles. If you need more space than that, the wine vault can hold another 10,000 bottles.
The residence went on the market Thursday, and there is no word on if buyers are chomping at the bit to call it home.
