WASHINGTON — Washington Wizards guard Jodie Meeks has been suspended for 25 games without pay for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA anti-Drug Program by testing positive for ipamorelin and growth hormone releasing peptide-2.
Meeks’ suspension will begin with Game 1 of the first round Eastern Conferenced playoff series between the Wizards and Toronto Raptors on Saturday. Meeks reportedly plans to appeal the punishment.
Meeks played in 77 games for the Wizards this season, averaging 14.5 minutes, 6.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
The Wizards signed guard Ty Lawson this week to fill the final open roster spot before the playoffs.
