NHL releases Caps’ schedule for Stanley Cup Final

WASHINGTON — The Capitals will be taking on the upstart Las Vegas Golden Knights for the Stanley Cup.

For your planning purposes, here’s the schedule:

  • Game 1: Capitals at Golden Knights — Monday, May 28, 8 p.m.
  • Game 2: Capitals at Golden Knights — Wednesday, May 30, 8 p.m.
  • Game 3: Golden Knights at Capitals — Saturday, June 2, 8 p.m.
  • Game 4: Golden Knights at Capitals — Monday, June 4, 8 p.m.
  • Game 5*: Capitals at Knights — Thursday, June 7, 8 p.m.
  • Game 6*: Golden Knights at Capitals — Sunday, June 10, 8 p.m.
  • Game 7*: Capitals at Golden Knights — Wednesday, June 13, 8 p.m.

This is the Caps’ second trip to the Stanley Cup Final. The only other time the team made it this far was in 1998, when they were swept by the Detroit Red Wings.

This is Golden Knights’ very first season in existence. No other expansion team has ever made it this far before in any sport.
