Lumber Liquidators pulls laminate flooring from China

WASHINGTON — Lumber Liquidators is stopping sales of all its Chinese laminate flooring effective immediately, CNBC reports.

The move comes as the Virginia-based company faces 103 class-action lawsuits over the safety of the products.

The company also faces possible criminal charges from the U.S. Department of Justice.

The government began investigating the company after “60 Minutes” in March alleged that the laminates from China had excessive levels of cancer-causing formaldehyde.

About 52 percent of Lumber Liquidators laminates come from China.
