WASHINGTON — Another winter, another school official deciding to have a little fun with a school-cancellation announcement.
This time it happened at Moses Brown School, in Providence, Rhode Island. Head of School Matt Glendinning decided that he’d announce the Tuesday closure of school with a takeoff on the hit movie “Frozen” — appropriately enough.
The song was rewritten by the school’s director of communication, Adam Olenn, to the tune of the hit single “Let It Go” to announce that “school is closed.”
“I’ve seen a couple of funny principal snow day closings and I thought we could really crush that,” Olenn said to TheArtery.
The video includes outdoor shots, vintage photos and, of course, happy kids.
Glendinning looks like he’s singing in the video, but the voice you’re actually hearing is the school’s choral director, Justin Peters.
Peters recorded the song that Olenn says he cranked out in about 15 minutes.
