WASHINGTON — Plans are underway to make waiting in line at the airport this summer as smooth and safe as possible, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority CEO Jack Potter announced.
“From a TSA perspective, we know people are concerned about the security lines,” said Potter at the Dulles Matters event on Wednesday.
“We’re going to do everything we can to make sure we help them expedite those lines the best we can,” he said.
No specifics plans were given about how the airport would try to help.
Potter said Dulles International Airport will try to make the experience of flying in from abroad even easier for passengers.
“People complain about our customs lines,” Potter told the audience. “Bottom line is they are the fastest of any big airport in America.”
Potter also said that the airport has installed new equipment and that having a lot of passengers use TSA’s Global Entry program had made the customs process even easier.
“You know how you have to stop and show your paperwork? Hopefully by this time next year, we’ll be in a situation where that no longer exists,” he said.
However, these improvements could still cause some inconvenience for passengers since the airport will have to reconfigure the space.
