WASHINGTON — Major track work disrupts the Red, Orange, Blue and Silver lines this weekend.
Red Line
On the Red Line, the round-the-clock work zone that has shuttered the Takoma Metro and the station’s parking garage since Nov. 25 continues through Sunday night.
With no trains between Silver Spring and Fort Totten, Metro plans to continue running limited shuttle buses. Regular bus routes to and from downtown Silver Spring, Takoma or Fort Totten may provide better alternatives at times.
Riders who would usually drive to stations on the Red Line between Silver Spring and Glenmont should consider driving to the other side of the Red Line or Green Line stations instead.
Elsewhere on the Red Line, trains are due to come every 12 to 15 minutes with some additional trains during the day between Shady Grove and NoMa-Gallaudet.
Takoma Station is scheduled to reopen Monday morning Dec. 11.
Orange, Blue, Silver lines
Significant single-tracking between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory disrupts the Orange, Blue and Silver lines Saturday and Sunday.
Silver Line trains are only scheduled to run between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston, and only every 24 minutes. The last Silver Line trains will leave Wiehle-Reston East earlier than usual Saturday and Sunday, at 11:50 p.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday.
The Orange and Blue lines are also each scheduled only every 24 minutes Saturday and Sunday.
Pentagon Station
The previously planned Pentagon emergency drill for Saturday has been canceled.
Metrobus service will operate from Pentagon Transit Center all day Saturday.
Trains will also service Pentagon station for connections.
Green Line
There is no scheduled track work on the Green Line for most of the weekend, but trains are scheduled to single-track Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights after 10 p.m. between Prince George’s Plaza and College Park.
