WASHINGTON — The photo of a 2-year-old girl staring in awe at former first lady Michelle Obama’s portrait in a D.C. museum went viral on social media last week. This week, the little girl in that photo got to dance with the woman she had admired on linen just a few days earlier.
Obama shared her meeting — and dance party — with Parker Curry on social media Tuesday. On Twitter, the video of their shimmy and shakes already has more than 3 million views.
“Parker, I’m so glad I had the chance to meet you today (and for the dance party)! Keep on dreaming big for yourself…and maybe one day I’ll proudly look up at a portrait of you!” Obama’s caption reads. She also posted their dance party on Instagram.
Here’s the photo of Parker Curry that started it all, taken at the National Portrait Gallery in D.C. where Obama’s portrait is currently on display until November.
