WASHINGTON — There are claims that a recent Washington-area real estate sale has set the record for the area’s most expensive piece of land.
Six acres of Virginia land in McLean, on Chain Bridge Road and with pristine views of the Potomac River, have sold for $19.9 million.
Long & Foster says the sale of the two adjoining parcels represents the largest residential land sale of its kind in the metro area, based on listing records for the District and the close-in counties in Maryland and Virginia.
The land is located on what’s referred to as McLean’s Gold Coast. In a news release, realtor Fouad Talout said the area “attracts both local and international dignitaries, who appreciate the neighborhood’s convenience to our nation’s capital as well as its privacy.”
