Police say 23-year-old Roberta Edlina Brandon shot 24-year-old Cordrey Douglas Jackson in front of the entrance to the grocery store located at 6306 Hoadly Rd. in Manassas, Virginia at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Emergency crews transported Jackson to an area hospital where he later died.

Police say the two knew each other and there was a physical altercation that led to the shooting. The nature of their relationship is not yet clear.

After the shooting, Brandon fled the scene, and is still at large. The Woodbridge resident is described as a black female, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 154 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes, police said.

Police say the incident remains under investigation.
